Production photos of some behind-the-scenes of our new set!
Day 1
Time lapse of my class build for our final 35mm project.
(In case you’re wondering what it’s about, check out our Kickstarter, and maybe even have a compassionate heart [or wallet], haha).
Today was the day of final project pitches at school.
One of the groups I was a part of pitched a story called, “The Path.” I really confident in the people in our crew, and I’m honored to be around such talented filmmakers.
I’ll be releasing the tentative trailer by the end of the day, and I can’t wait for you all to see it! As usual, hope all is well. I know some of you have been messaging me with no luck of a response — but I promise, now that these pitches that have been consuming my life for the past month are over, I’ll get back to communicating properly, haha. I’d love to hear how you all are doing.
Email, maybe? :)

Most people experience 9am to 5pm jobs
I just got home from a 9pm to 6am “job” (if you even want to call being part of an awesome music video a job).
“The Path” // Trailer Sneak Peek
Can I just start off by saying that I tremendously love what I do?
Anyway, hello, everyone!
Today I was out shooting the entire day.
I’m five months left from graduation, and our final project (which we get to shoot with 35mm film) is coming up. What happens, though, is everyone has the opportunity to write a story and then pitch that story to a group of about 12 instructors, and out of all the groups (we have 90 people in our class) they choose three to actually get produced.
For the pitch, you can literally do anything you’d like. You can show up with nothing there and just talk about your film. But, the more prepared and confident you are, the better your chances, because it shows that they can trust you with a budget, crew, time, etc. SOOOOO, today, a few people in my group went out to shoot a mini-trailer of what this project has the potential to be.
And, MAN, it has potential! I had a blast. Here are just a few stills from the little wedding scene. Hope you enjoy (and hope all is well!)
Today
There’s this super awesome instructor at my school who teaches a Producing class (the last class I have before I graduate). However, he’ll be leaving by Feb/2012, one month before I would have the opportunity to have him as a teacher. So, he’s been having these great workshops on some Saturdays.
Today I went to it.
To say the least, it was motivational, thought-provoking, and pushed me to different levels of comfort. He spoke a lot about networking and its importance, and how to get a job in the film industry after graduation.
What it probably did the most for me was reaffirming a thought I had of moving to L.A. after I graduate in March/2012. There’s still a lot up in the air, but he gave me the confidence of pursing more of what I truly desire as an end result, instead of being complacent with mediocracy (not that I’m a state of mediocracy now).
Ultimately, I want to be a cinematographer that creates films that make a difference. And I’m going to do everything in my will to reach that goal in my career.
A lot of people are scared and nervous about the future. Maybe I am, a little, but, I’m much too excited and pumped to even think about any negatives!
WOO HOO!
I seriously WISH I had some behind-the-scenes pictures to show you NOW
But, unfortunately, I don’t.
At least not yet.
Today was day #2 of our production, Check Mate. We’re doing it for this HIV/AIDS awareness competition, completely separate from any school-related project.
But man, what a production has this been. I think we shot in over nine or ten different locations throughout these two days, with a bunch of wonderful actors. The crew was absolutely phenomenal, and I couldn’t have asked for anything better. Everything to a hospital scene, to a conference scene, to a basketball scene, and even a soundstage made into an abandoned house!
My enthusiasm can not WAIT to show you the final product and tell you more about it as the days go along. It’s due at the end of August, so you’ll be sure to see it up soon.
This happened yesterday.
Nothing less than epic.
Mini Life Update
I am swamped.
I basically helped out with the ESPN shoot from 6AM to 5:30PM. Mind you, I was standing outside in the scorching Florida heat with a 10-pound camera on my shoulder during this time period. I got home, took a shower really quickly, and went to church. I just got home, now around 11:50PM.
I’m restless. I love all of this, and it’s not the type of restless where I’m unmotivated or depressed. I actually couldn’t be more happier with how things are going lately. But it’s just the type of restless that would really appreciate a day in which I could sleep in past 7AM for once. My little vacation I took with some friends to Daytona consisted of them waking up at 5:30AM to go run on the beach.
In any case, tomorrow I’m doing bald caps on someone! :D
Production meeting.
So many great things yet to come.
I don’t want to give too much away, but maybe a production company is on its way. Maybe a revolutionary website for filmmakers is on its way. Maybe a creative consulting agency is being built. Maybe intuitive designs and websites are being constructed.
You know, maybe.
