Words of Confusion?

So horrific what happened to Haiti that country can’t catch a break…(video is pretty graphic)

I was avoiding saying this, but I guess I have too. I find a good 80% of you people reading this right now, incredibly selfish. I’m generalizing here, along with all of Tumblr. I post something about Haiti, about how this devastating earthquake hits and kills a crapload of people, and I get “7 notes”. An hour before that, I put up a stupid picture of myself and I get “19 notes” along with 5 other reblogs.

I’m not complaining. I’m not saying it’s wrong to reblog a picture. I’m not saying you’re horrible for that. I’m not saying I didn’t like the picture. I’m not saying that no one read the Haiti post. I’m not telling you what you have to reblog or not.

All I’m trying to get at is that a very good handful of people didn’t even think twice about the people of Haiti. That’s fine, I guess. But still, incredibly selfish. If something like this happened to you, in a country like that of Haiti, wouldn’t you like at least some consideration? I’m not even talking about prayer or financial help or anything like that. I’m talking about some sympathy. Not just: “Oh, that sucks” but just a true, sympathetic expression.

I don’t know, maybe I’m just going crazy. Maybe I’m just wrong. Whatever.
